A YOUTH'S FORGERY
WHITES A CHEQUE FOR . JEWELLERY. By Telegraph—Pleas Association Thames, January 13. A Thames youth, about 18 years of ago, Charles Sherman, pleaded guilty in tho Court this morning to a charge of forgery. He was committed to the Supreme Court in Auckland for sentence. The evidence was to the effect that he passed'a forged cheque for £10' in payment for jowellory, which he later pawned. Next day he ( attempted to pass a cheque for £12 unsuccessfully. The "signature" was that of a well-known fanner.- The writer did not oven attempt imitation, and the cheque wns rejected by the bank.
