Weather conditions were ideal and a very large number 'of people" ,w ere present to welcome home those who had been contributing their share towards defeating the Hun,- The Mayor (Mr. J. I', Luke, C.M.G.) was present to offer the men the. city's welcome. No time was lost in getting the men off the boat, and credit is due to the responsible authorities f 9r the speedy manner in which they disposed . of the men. Tho organisation was perfect, and in an hour. the whole of the troops were off the ship! The volunteer motor corps was well represented and performed excellent ser-. vice. With tho exception, of .six days of particularly rough neither shortly after leaving the Home port. the. voyage was without incident. Huge seas were encountered during the rough weather, and one wove came aboard, injuring a seaman and a soldier, both of. whom' suffered fractures in .tile lower extremities. The fittings of the vessel for'ard also suffered some little damage. T.he Southern portion of the draft proceeded South by the ferry stgamer on Saturday night..
