[The late Sir Donald Mackenzie Wallace was formerly private secretary to the Marquis of Dufferiiv and tlie Marquis of Lansdowne during their terms as .Viceroys of India (1884-89); attached to the Tsarevitch as political oflicer during his tour of India and Ceylon (IS9O-91); Director of the Foreign Department of the London "Times" (1801-99); assistant private secretary to the present King .during his tour of tlie Empire as Duke of Cornwall and York in 1901; attached to the ex-Tsar during the Imperial visit tq Great Britain in 1909: edited tenth edition <}f the "Encyclopaedia Britannica"; has written on Russian, Egyptian, arid British Imperial questions.]
