TWO DRAFTS' RETURNING, J . 7
'' Some of the .New Zealanders who have • been stranded in Sydney for so long owingto the hold-up of steamers are soon' to be -'repatriated.- The Acting-Prime 'Minister has received advice from the -New' Zealand agent in-Sydney that 150 of the stranded New Zealanders have been accommodated 1 on the Durham and the Port. Lyttelton. The agent of the New Zealand Government has already re-' ceived instructions' 1 to ee© that none of our people delayed'there are in want. One of the effects of tliis interruption of communication with Australia is a shortage of fruit here, and 1 the consequent very high prices. Ah appeal was made by some people in the-fruit trade in Auckland to .the .Government to provide space for fruit, but Sir James Allen could give.no aid. He. told, them that their only chance was to- get space on the Durham and - Port - Lyttelton, as there -6eemed to be no prospect of the regular steamers resuming'immediately.
