THE BALLINA FERRY BOAT DISASTER
CAUSE A MYSTERY. Sydney, Decembdr 28. It appears that owing to lack of hotel ficcommodation at Ballina several holiday visitors slopfc aboard the river 6teamer which was moored to the wharf. During tlio early hours of the morning the steamer overturned, but the cause 16 unknown. IW men who were sleeping in cabins were drowned. The women and children vesting on the deck were saved. It is believed that other lives were lost. —Press Assn.
