6 A CENSUS'OF STOCKS. A census of stocks of flour, wheat, and oats in New Zealand on November 30 [ has been completed by the Government Statistician, and the results are shown in this week's Gazette. Returns were re. ceived covering all stocks owned or stored by millers, merchants, and farmera throughout the Dominion, with a few unimportant exceptions which are not considered to affect appreciably the totals, given.- ■■.•■•-. ' The returns 6how that on November 30 millers, merchants, and farmers held' 10,697 tons of flour, 1,267,677 bushels of milling wheat, 165,890 bushels of other wheat, and '617/832 bushels of oats. It was estimated that there were in stack 11,489 bushels of wheat and 25,480 bushels of oats. The stocks held on November 30, 1917, were 7627 tons of flour, 428,638 bushels of milling wheat, 38,609 bushels of other wheat, and 1,163,545 bushels of oats.
