DISTRESSED MORTGAGES
GOA'ERNMENT ASSISTANCE URGED. By Telegraph-Prees Association Greymouth, December 19. In connection with tho deaths from influenza the Cobden Ratepayers' Association, has passed the following resolution :—"That in cases of distress arising out of the'irccent epidemic where a wortgage is held in private hands the Government should give facilities to assist the mortgagor to retain his home, and if desired transfer the mortgage to more favourable terms." Influenza has completely disappeared.
