The -Westmere Estate, >east of Jfusterton, three thousand acres, has been acquired by the- tlovernment i'or soldier settlement. Robert lienlley, aged thirty-seven, mid married, died suddenly in Jinstertou on Sunday evening from heart failure. The cost of suppressing the influenza epidemic in Masterton and district, apart; from voluntary labour, was nearly .£2OOO. Very foiv. cases have been reported during tho lust few days, and the whulo of tlio temporary hospital .have boon closed.
