.TEXT OP UNITED STATER NOTE. (Rec. December 15, 5.5 p.m.) Washington, December <t Mr. Polk, Counsellor for the Slate Department, has published the text of the United States Note to Chiln and Pom. In the Note the United States urges the .two nations that they owed it to the rest of the world to compose their differences, and tenders American assistance, if required, to bring about an equitable settlement. Tho Note views with the gravest apprehension tho severing of Consular relations, particularly on the eve of the Paris Peace Conference, at which, it is hoped, steps will be taken to provide an era of lasting peace among all peoples — Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.
