The top price for a Hnmpire Down sheep is 220 guineas for a m iamb hired for tho season. The eep came from Mrs. Jervoiso's flock in ampshire. So far, the best figure has en made by n Lincoln ram from Mr. wklebank's flock, for which 700 guias was paid at.the Lincoln ram sales— Tecord price at this fixture, although It a record /or the breed. , Some of e best sales of the season have taken ace. in Scotland. At the Lanark sales I hill black-faced sheep .£395 was paid !' a shearling from flic Borland flock 'Messrs. Cadzow. 'Formerly Hie rei stood at ,£3OO. A sheep from Hazelh made this figure, and other good ices were .£230 and ,6160. At Perth pi sale* another black-faced rain }de .£2BO. nnd .£270 was paid for a ;oolfords sheep. Considering tjiat this £ed lives on the highest ranges of the iintry. the iriule in high-class speci--5H3 is altogether remarkable.
