RESUMPTION OF PACIFIC TRADE. (Bee. December 12, 9.10 p.m.) London, Deoember 11. At a meeting of the Peninsular and Oriental Steamship' Company Lord Inchcape said that the liabilities totalled £5,822,563, which included a'considerablesum to moet the increased cost of building. The company would as speedily as possible resume its position in the Eastern and Far Eastern Australian trades, but with so many ships sunk it would be some time before it would be able to offer tho travelling public the convenieence, comfort, and regularity to which they had been- accustomed before the war—Aiis.-N.Z. .Cable' Assn.
