STRANDED NEW ZEALANDERS IN SYDNEY
APPEAL TO MR. MASSEY. (Rec. December 12, 9.40 p.m.) Sydney, December 12. The following cablegram has been dispatched to Mr. Massey (Prime Minister of New Zealand) by a deputation representing over three hundred stranded New Zealanders, wh<> urge immediate assistance in order that they might return to the Dominion. They suggest that the New Zealand Government should approach the Union Company, Iho Federal Prime Minister, and the State Premier, urging them to use their influence to settle any dispute between the crew and the company in order to dispatch the Moeraki immediately. There is no sign of the steamer leaving, and unless strenuous outside pressure is exerted there will be many cases of hardship if the delay be unduly prolonged. The Port Sydney is expected to sail on Friday, taking passengers—Press Assn.
