MEETING OF THE CENTRE. THE CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT. Messrs. G. Hendry (in the chair), T. Koberbon, S. lindcnvocd, .13. .1. Mill, W. H. Morrali, ,1. Keith, f. Meudowcrol't, J. Muir, A. Wylii', Thomson, K. Ballinger, .->. liradley, were present at the meeting of t'hc 'Wellington Bowling Centre held last evening. A notice of motion was received from the Ncwtuwn Club asking that, t/ie decisiqii to piiiy uiwy two games of 21 heads bo rescinded, ;ind that the order of two ■janie.-i of 'li heads per day bs substituted. .Mr. llnderwuud said' that many meniliers of Ins club thought that :!5 heads provided a tetter and a fulier day's ,-:port, and that two games of 21 heads were scarcely worth playing. Mr. A. Wylie (Wellington) seconded the motion. Mr. E. J. Hill (Te Hiwi) protested that 2\ heads was the national game, and he did not .see why they should depart from established, practice. Somo of those present thought they should p'.;iy three games of 21 heads pe'r iiiiy, b:it thijt idwi was not approved owing to the transit arrangements a» far as the suburban players were concerned. The niotiuii ,n lavour of playing two games of 25 heads per day was carried. Providing he is able to get away it was decided that Jlr. S. Underwood should represent the Wellington Centra nt the conference to be held during the Dominion Association's tuiruumcut in Auckland.

In referring to the business of the conference Mr. J. J. Roberts said that the chief business will be the consideration of the constitution of the association, whether it should remain as it is, or be constituted of delegates from centres. Mr. Keith considered that an alteration in the. constitution was needed.

Mr. Hill said that they seemed to get the .wrong jiicn on the. aiociation, and it had become a close corporation. Mr. Underwood was :iteo of opinion that there was need of an alteration, which he thought should be on a proper representative basis.

Mr. Keith asked what had become of Mr. Allen's (Diinedin) letter on the subject of the constitution of the association. The secretary said that the matter V-ad been before the association, and it had been withdrawn. It was decided that n special night be devoted by the centre to a discussion of the constitution of the association, and ihe business of the conference generally. The secretary was instructed fo write to the secretary of the association at Auckland for particulars of the proposed business of the conference. The secretary announced that 50 entries had been n-eceived for the Christmas tournament; to commence on Boxing Day. Tt was decided that- the tournament Ik played in six sections of eight rinks, each on the Wellington, Newtown, Thorndon, Hafaitai, KeTburn, and Victoria greeiK Mr. Robertson protested about the l'etone green being left out. The secretary pointed out; that no entr'cs had been .received from the Petone Club. Mr. Roberlson said that the rfason for that was that Petone had bnen badly hit I).v the influenza. Tt was decided that the fiiml games (of tv.enty-ono heads) be played on tho Wellington Club's" green. No bowls are to be played that are not stamped with the Dominion Bowling Associntion's stamp. Mr. Meadowcroft suggested that the proceeds of the tournament might bo distributed among those clubs which have been hard hit during the war. On the motion of Mr* Underwood it was decided that the proceeds should be devoted to the funds of Ihe centre. Mr. Meadoivcroft moved thntccrtificat.es only be presented to winners. An amendment by Mr. J. Muir that the centro reverts to the former method of giving trophies did not find a seconder. It was decided that the president (Mr. \V. <".'■. Cooper). Messrs. ,T.
