London, October 3. Captain Raymond White, of Wairoa, was in London last week. Lieutenant S- Cory Wright, of Audiland, has been over froni'France. , Lieutenant C, B. Forcllian, R.N.V.R., has been on leave from Portsmouth. Second-Lieutenant A. C. Groat, of Wellington, is with the R.A.F. in England. S.-Sergeant J. Edmunds, N.Z.A.S.C.. hns received a commission in the R.A.F. Hi-. R. G. Applegarth, of Auckland, is in Paris with the American Bed Cross. The Rev. N. F. C. Robertshawo is a chaplain in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. The Rov. H. L. B. Goerty has been appointed chaplain to tho Third N.Z.G.H. Captain 6. E. Eliott, of Auckland, is going on leave to Mew Zealand next month. Sir Thomas Maokenzie has returned to town after a short holiday in Scotland. ;■■ Captain Hugh B. Burrell is with a training squadron of the R.A.F. at Croj* don. ' Paymaster C. Raymond Howarth, R-N.R.., of Wellington, has been on leave from his ship. Mr. Alfred Pearse has been appointed war artist to the N.Z.E.F., with the rank of captain. Captain J. W. Langridge, of Wanganni, who has been fighting since Gallipoli, is getting his discharge. Lioutenant R, H. Baigent, R.N.R., of Nelson, has been staying at tjie New Zealand Officers' Club. Hill Street. Mr. W. G. Saxby, of Remuera, who formerly had a commission in. the R.F.A., was in London last week. Sister D. Gill, Q.A.1.M.N.R., who has been on active service since 1915, has returned from a year in Salonika, Second Lieutenant G. A. Thompson, of Wellington, who was with the Northumberland Fusiliers, was on leave last week. The Rev. T. N. Cuttle and the Rev. F. Rands have been taken on tho strength of the N.Z.E.F. as C.F., Fourth Class. The Rev. S. J. Handover, formerly of St. Peter's, Wellington, has been elected Fellows' Chaplain at Magdalen Colege, Oxford. Dr. A. Massey has received a commission in the N.Z.M.C., and has been 'appointed assistant quartermaster at No. 2 N.Z.G.H, Miss Nora Dargel, the New Zealand prima donna, is this week playing at Brighton with the Phillip's Opera Com- j pany in* "Madame Butterfly" and "Traviata.' 1 Miss Brandon, formerly of Wellington, was one of tho assistants at the stand at the New Zealand Office on St. Dunstan's Day. Tho stand was in charge of Mrs. (Alington and Mrs. Forbes Meicklejohn, and the use of tho stall was kindly lent by the High Commissioner. Corporal M. A. Burrett, Auckland Regiment, Rifleman W. S. Hopping, N.Z. R. 8., and Lce-Corporal'G. F. M. Godtschalk. N.Z.M.G.C, have gone to India for admissibn to an Indian Cadet School. Private L. T. Wilcock, Private W. Berry, and Privato AY. G. Lovie, of the Auckland Regiment, have joined a cadet school, Newmarket, for training for the Indian Army.
