TERRIFIC DEMANDS ON SEA CARMAGE FORESHADOWED. (Rec. December 5, 7.10 p.m.) Washington, December i. Mr W. C. Redfield (United States Secretary of Commerce), in a speech, said that every ship which the world hud and could get would be needed during the next two years. Sea carriage was certain to ba taxed to its utmost capacity, it would be necessary to democratise American business in order to assure American prosperity. It was now assured because the world's raw materials had been placed on a basis of service instead of pionts.-Aus.-N.Z. Ca'blc Assn.
