MOTOR ACCIDENT
THE PAEKAKARIKI HILL FATALITY.
In Saturday's Dominion appeared a brief account of a motor accident or, the Paokakariki Hill, Whereby Mr. William Frederick Williams (a. partner m the firm of Jones and Co., scrap-metal merchants, of Clyde Quay, Wellington) lost his life. ... It appears that Mrs. Robertson, with her niece, Mrs. Williamson (of Lyall Hay), went up early last week to Plinimerton, to her son, who was seriously ill with influenza. On Thursday Mr. Williams left Flimmerton with Mrs. Robertson in his car, to take her to his home at Pnraparaumu. As thoy did not arrive at their destination a search party sot out with lanterns on Thursday night, but saw no signs of them, and it was not till 1 p.m. on Friday that a gentleman who was passing along the Paekakariki Hill discovered the missing car. together with Mr. Williams, who had apparently been killed instantly, and Mrs. Robertson suffering from a broken log and a broken arm. In spite of her terrible- ordonl she was quite conscious, and was able to talk coherently. She was transferred (o the Pnekakariki Hotel, and was attended by a doctor, and on Saturday, was to bo removed to Otaki.
The 'laic Mr. Williams was about 55 years of ago. 110 leaves » widow and two sons. Tim latter arrived at Wellington on Friday night from Ocean Bay College on their Christmas holidays. Mr. Frank TI. Williams, of 5+ Lcraud Street, Wellington, is a brother of the deceased.
