It is understood that the United States Government's offer to purchase 720,000 gross tons of British 'shipping from the International Mercantile Marine Corporation has been accepted. The United States offered the same price as a British syndicate. Tho purchase includes the Olympic— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
