INDIA CELEBRATES THE VICTORY
MTHUSIA STIC DEMONSTR ATIONS. (Rec. November 28, 11.20 p.m.) Delhi, November 27. To-day was proclaimed a public holiday. Enthusiastic. victory celebrations are being held in India, and will continue in certain localities till November 30. The festivities have included parades, processions, military sports, iUumiualions, fireworks, gifts of food and clothing to the poor, and entertainments for the wounded. Practically every ruling chief in India has telegraphed to the Viceroy his congratulations on the Allies' victory. Rejoicings are reported from Kabul, many parts of the north-west frontier, and the Persian Gulf. Several of the Himalayan districts displayed beacons on the hilltops. All the ' prisoners returning from Turkey,, and the troops from the fields of war, will ba entertained at the ports 'of arrival in India.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable. Assn.Iteuter.
