BIG DELAYS IN NEW ZEALAND.
In the House of Representatives recently Mr. Dickio drew the attention of the Postmaster-General to delays in the shipment of parcels for soldiers at the front. He asked tho following question- "Whether his attention has been drawn to the paragraph which appeared in The Dominion" newspaper stating that over 1000 tons of parcels, roughly valued <it ,£IO,OOO, for the boys at the. front nro held in store in the Dominion owing to tho lack of shipping facilities, and whether he will take steps to have the public informed that parcels now accepted will bo subject to considerable oelav nnd will bo accepted at tho senders risk'" Sir .1. G. Ward (Postmaster-General) replied:' I was aware of the stato of matters noticed in the newspaper article and had already taken steps to deal with the situation. "The whole accumulation in Wellington will be got rid of in the two next dispatches. There is no need of any hesitation on the part of the public in' continuing to post parcels for pur soldiers- These must always be subject to the risk of delay which has subsisted since tho beginning of tho war, namely, the risk attondant ,on the lack ot shipping facilities.
