THE AMERICAN NAVY EIGHT HUNDRED SHIPS IN 1920. (Rec. November 24, 5.5 p.m.) Washington, November 22. The House of Representatives Naval Committee has been informed that the American naval strength of 1917 would be doubled by 1920. Five new Dreadnoughts were in course of buildinp, and three .hundred and fifty new destroyers. The total number of ships in 1920 would be eight hundred, compared with three hundred when the United States entered the war.—Aiis.Jv.Z. Cable Assn.
