BIG IMPERIAL MEAT SCHEME
FOR AFTER-WAR TRADING, (Roc. November 21, 7.10 p.m.)
11 London, November 20. The Australasian Section of the Incorporated Meat Importers' Society has formulated a scheme for after-war trading for_ submission to the authorities. The main object of tho scheme is to encourago the Empire's meat output. It is suggested that. Australasian imports should be treed from Government control simultaneously with foreign imports, at the latent by September, 101!). Refrigerated tonnage should firstly be allocated for Imperial products, but in order to ensure ample supplies from other sources a bonus of per pound should be granted to tho Empire's meat works, and Jd. on foreign British-owned works, on condition tluil tli? former allocate 75 per cent, of tho output and tho latter GO per cent, (o the British Association, embracing the entire British import trade. Jt is also suggested that to prevent foreigners dumping cheap meat the Government should buy all such moat, reselling through tho association.
