STATEMENT BY MB, BONAR LAW.
(Bee. November 14, 5.5 p.m.) London, November 13. In tho House of Commons Mr. Sonar Law moved a voto of credit of 700 mil.ions. He expected tho expenditure fo bo less, but if this were the end of tho war some demobilisation expenses could be met from this vote, also greater cxponditure might Jjo necessary in bringing food supplies to Europe! At October J!) our loans' to the Allies amounted to 165 millions, and loans to Hie dominions to 218 millions. Britain's debts abroad did not now exceed a thousand millions. This wo could easily hear. Our future depended upon the extent to which Labour, and Capital worked harmoniously together. . He declared that the Empire's part was greater than never wus played by any country in tho world. He "paid 'a tribute to the Dominion!) and India for the part played in the war. The Dominions were fighting for the Empire, which was as much theirs as oiirs. They were far •away, but had sent troops, and what troops they were I He emphasised'the war efforts of the Mother Countrv. Tho Navy had played a decisivo part" in the blockade, and had sapped tho wfoolo foundation of German life. 'No army had done as much as ours during the last two years.
