The British Admiralty announces that tho warship Audacious sank after striking a mine oft' the north Irish coast on October 27, 1911 The news was not issued previously owing to the request of tho Commander-in-C'liiof of tho Grand Fleet (then Sir \Tohn Jellicoe).—Ans -N 7, Cablo Assn.-Reutef.

The Government persistently refused to give official confirmation to what everybody knew had , hnpponed. home papers—notably in America-even published photographs of tho wreck, which was towed into shallow water.]
