HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL

A meeting of the Hutt Borough Council was held in the Council Chambers last night. There was a full attendance of councillors, the Mayor (Mr. E. P. Eishworthj being in the chair. In deciding to srant the sum of .£lO to the Pctone Ambulanco Van Fund attention was drawn to tho fact that Hutt residents might not be generally aware of the'convenience. To draw attention to this it was decided to have notices erected at suitable places giving full particulars in regard to the van. It was Tesolved: to defer tho question of payment of bonuses to workmen doing "wet", work till the new estimates wero framed

Councillors.Kerr and'Walton were appointed: to form part of a delegation to the Minister in connection with the Manijahao hydro-electric scheme. Ati application, from the Wellington Conimeicial Travellers' Association for a donation to the Mercantile. Marine War Fund-was received; His Worship stated that the matter was -beyond the jurisdiction of the council.
