LABOUR BALLOT ABANDONED. Melbourne, November 11. The Federal Labour Executive lias decided to abandon the proposed ballot 011 the recruiting question and bus issued a statement expressing pleasure at the prospect of an eatly cessation of hostilities and the establishment of peace 011 the . most immediately basis, adding: "The executive views with satisfaction tlie knowledge that the adoption of • Labour's peace has brought about this result." It states that though the return to hand shows that the overwhelming affirmative vote in each State ,! as given a majority for "yes," the Tensons for taking the ballot have now largely been removed, and further action is unnecessary."—Press Aflsn.
