LAND AGENTS' ASSOCIATION
At the meeting of the Wellington Land Agents and Auctioneers' Association on Tuesday evening, presided over by Mr. Gallatly, several alterations were made to the rules affecting charges by way of , commission, which will bring the local association's charges in line with those 6f the Dominion association. The Wellington association is the first to fall into line, and it is anticipated that other bodies will follow suit.
The Taranaki association wrote asking the removal of, a suspension of the rule which enabled' Wellington land agents io split commissions with any land agents, whether they are members of nn affiliated body or otherwise. , '. Taranaki does not like such free-trade in commissions, and believes that such a privilege or right should only extend to members of different affiliated bodies. After a long discussion it was decided that the suspension should be removed as fnr as Taranaki was concerned. It was alsoidecided to add two more country members to the executive.
At the adjourned annual meeting which followed the following were elected, to the executive:—City—Messrs. S. Harcourt, J. T. Horn, .H.' E. Leighton, and R. C. Renuer; country—Messrs. 'J. Pairburn (Wanganui). Gilchriat (Palmerston North), and E. Goodbehere (Peilding). Regarding holidays to be observed,- a sub-committee, was set up to go into the matter and report. .
