By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston North, November 5. At a largo public meeting the following resolutions were carried-.—"That this meeting heartily endorses the opinion that tho time lias arrived when the Parliamentary grants for educational purposes in this Dominion shall reach the sum of ,£3,000,000 per year, as such a sum is necessary to provide efficient schools for the national welfare; that the statue of tho teaching profession should be raised and salaries paid in keeping with the work; that greater inducements should be given to young people to enter tho teaching profession."
