PRICE OF BUTTER
, NO LOCAL INCREASE. The Prime Minister stated yesterday that probably a week would elapse before arrangements could be completed for the purchase of this season's butter and cheese bv the Imperial Government., v Mr. Massey also informed a Dominion reporter that the increase in the export price of butter uiider the new arrangement with the Imperial authorities was not going to affect tho local retail price. The prico to the New Zealand consumer, bv arrangement between the Government and'the producers' representatives, would not go beyond Is. Bd. per lb., the maximum fixed last year.
