SPEEDING UP THE CARS.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. , Christchurch, October 29., A speeding up in the running of the trams was apparent to-day. Last week the average delay of the ears behind the schedule time was seven and eight mmutea on the,short runs, and about fift&on minutes or more on the longer trips. A comparison made this morning as between tho actual times of arrival and departure of cars and the time-table times showed discrepancies in most instances ranging froiti four minutes to one minute, while a number of cars were starting on time. Tho inconvenience to the public therefore has been greatly reduced.
