TOTAL PAYMENTS EXCEED J871,000,000. A report presented (o Parliament yesterday covers the operations of the Imperial Supplies Department from its inception on March 3, 1915, to the end oi September, 1918. During this period the Department paid .C71,05i','2"l for Now Zealand produce. The quantity of meat in store on September HO, 1918, for which no spii"e had been allotted in overseas steamers was 4,661,076 freight carcasses, of which 2,921,409 were in the North Island and 1,742,607 in the South Island. The cheese in store awaiting shipment on September 30 amounted to 275,5*3 orates, the North Island share being 223,236 crates. The butter in store on September 30 amounted to 107,767 boxes, of which 104,639 boxes were in the North Island. The total payments made by the Department to the end of September 1918, were as follow—Frozen meat, ,£27,916,6i6; cheese ,£9,024,533; butter, <£2,816,457 ; Site, J8182.917S wool, slipe wool, .£3,270,332; sheepskins, .81,121,066: hides, ,£704,577; other business, .£1,230,747; total, £71,057,271.
