DUNEDIN TRAMWAY DISPUTE
& By Telegraph--Press Association. Dunedi.n, October 25. A conference between the tramway proprietors and representatives of the Tramways Union vras held to-day. The union asked for an eight-hour day for motormen, gripnien, an conductors, and overtime rate, and half Sunday work at doublo rates. It was stated that the City Corporation was prepared to give an increase in round figures of 22 per cent, in wages. After discussion the union representatives agreed to an eight and a half-hour, subject to' ratification, and provided the work was continuous. After eitting all day the conference adjourned till Tuesday week.
