MAGISTRATE'S COURT

ALLEGED ASSAULT ON A CONSTABLE.

■ The proceeding at the Magistrate's Court yesterday were .conducted by Mr. F. V. Frazer, S.M.

Thomas Mnrchbank was remanded until October 30 on a charge of having assaulted Constable McMillan in the execution of his duty, on October 19.

A soldier named David M'Arthur Todd appenred on remand on it charge of having, on May 7, stolen the contents of several boxes, of a total value of .£llO, belonging to Grace Richardson. On the application of Chief-Detective Etoddam accused was further remanded until October 30.

An elderly man named William Henry Cnrdew was arraigned on two charges of having indecently assaulted a male. Accused pleaded not guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
