At Koberls's Heights cantonments there are 1800 cases, but the value of discipline and organisation is demonstrated by the low death-rate, as compared with that of the civilians. A Johannesburg message states that during the last twelve days there have been a thousand deaths, including 400 whites. At Bloemfontein the death roll is over a thousand, including a . imdred whites.
