PETONE FIRE BOARD
The quarterly meeting of the Petone Fire Board was held yesterday afternoon, Mr. J. W. M'Ewan presiding. There were also present: Messrs. C. 11. smith, T. P. tiling, T. Sutcliil'e, representing the insurance companies, ami Mr. James Kerr, representing the Liovernment. The chairman welcomed Messrs. Kerr and Sutchlfe, recently appomted''to tne hoard, and they suitably replied. | The Department of Internal Affairs advised Mr. Kerr had been appuiuted as the Government representative on the board. . Mr. H. E. Kempthorne wrote, resigning his seat on the board owing to His removal to New York. ' It was resolved to place on record the very high appreciation of the services rendered to me board by Mr. Kempthorne during the many years he had been a member. '~„.. • The Department of Internal Affairs informed the board that Mr. T. Sutcliffe had been appointed to fill the vacancy caused by tne resignation of Mr. Kempthorne. . , . .... ~ . Notification was received from the Public Works Department that tne electric line to the Petone Fire Station had been laid satisfactorily, and that it was now ready for use.
