SMALL TAELE'TOUE-NAMENT. The small table billiard competition was brought to a close last night in Messrs. Aleock and Co.'s showrooms, when the semi-finals and final games wore played. The semi-finals wevo Morse v. Jackson and Ingley v. Burd. The latter gaino was very evenly contested, both players being in good form. Ingley made a nice break of '17, which was followed nlmost immediately by a 41. from Burd , s cue. It looked like, either player's game until quite near tho finish, when Ingley went out with a break of 20. The final scores read: Ingley, 200; Burd, 103. Tho game, between Jackson and Morso was very interesting, Morse making breaks of 2G and 21, and scoring his 200 points when Jackson was ll'i. The final game of 300 up was between Ingley (scratch) and Morse (receiving 30).' "Ingley started (iff well, and in quick succession put together breaks of 27, 24, 21. At this stage of the. game Morso was ba.ving bad luck -\yitli the run of tho balls, many of his well-played shots missing by tho merest fraction, whereas they were running 'particularly hvell for Ingley, and he was certainly lucky with quite, a number of his shots. Tho linal scores were:'lnglev, 300; Morse, 190. • * " At the, conclusion of tho game winner was presented with the silver challenge cup, which ho holds for one year, also a miniature cup, as a permanent memento. Tho winner, in n lew, well-chosen words, thanked Messrs. Aleock and Co. for the splendid tables they had provided for tho competition.
