SAILORS' REST

A delightful evening's entertainment was provided at the Sailors' Rest, Queen's Chambers, Post Office Square,, on Monday night by. a party from .the Church- of Christ, Nowtown. Various parlour games, songs, and recitations were giyen, and 'wolf-known ■ popular hymns were. sung. Light refreshments were handed round during tho evening. The heartiness of the vote of thanks carried By the sailors showed how niuch they, had appreciated the-,kindness of tho party in coming from' Newtowh;to provide an- evening's enjoyment ■ for them. ' proceedings were closedwith 'a prayer :by. the president, of the' 'Wellington branch of the British and Foreign Sailors'- Socioty.
