BAPTIST CONFERENCE
The annual meetings of the Baptist Union were continued yesterday at the Vivian Street Baptist Chinch. Tho session opened with a discussion on tho work of God in tho churches, led by the Rev. H. E. Edridge. Mr. W. Lambournc presented the report of the Mauurewa Home, Auckland, where fifty-nine children aro at present being cared for. The home and iironnds occupy 12} acres,- and are valued at £10,000. The report of the Young Women's Bible Class Union was presented by Mr. Rollings, Dominion president. A. deputation, consisting of the Revs. J. Dawson, W. J. Comrio, and Knowles Smith, waited 011 the. conference on behalf of the 'New Zealand Alliance. The first part of the afternoon session was devoted to thanksgiving to God for victories given to the Allied forces. Tho Rev. R. H. K. Kempton, of Auckland, addressed the assembly.
