INFLUENZA AND MEASLES.

A few additional cases of influenza were reported the military camps during the weelwaid, but the medical authorities consider that the epidemic js in hand. Extensive use is being mr.de of the inhalation chambers, and it is noticeable that the men themselves show growing confidence in this method of preventing infection. ' The camp medical officers are still finding evidence that influenza is brought into the camps from outside, and the men are being warned on their guard against, infection when ou leave. Cases that have come under official nptice'show that the friends of soldiers are sometimes very careless in exposing the men to epidemic disease. "Attention has been, drawn by the Department of Medical Services," states Trenthara Camp Orders, r '-'that, there is need for more care in the selection of accommodation by foldiers on week-end leave, in the interests of their own health, and that of their associates in camp. . Last week-end in a certain private hotel in Wellington, a medical officer found two soldiers very ill with influenza, sleeping in a room 18 x 15 feet, fitted with twelve sleepingplaces. The room was in the basement, and had no- outside ventilation. Such accommodation should not lo accepted by soldiers on leave."
