PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS
PREPARING FOR THE.SESSION.
Much' activity prevails at The new Parliamentary Buildings, where the main chamber, the lobbies, and galleries, and some other quarters, are being prepared for. occupation during the impending session of Parliament. '. The chamber is almost complete, though a certain amount of detail work has still to be done. The panelling and plastering of tho big lobby is practically finished, and the combination of marble pillars, set in the walls, and grained wood is verv effective.
■A temporary connection is being prq- ; videel between the building at present in use and the library wing, through the new building. This has involved the construction .of some temporary st»ir<: and other work. The.new "tube" will be a great improvement upon the damp and draughty tunnel that has been used by members in recent'years.
