THE EDUCATION GRANT
AND STATUS OF TEACHERS,

Palmcrstbn N., October 7.
At a meeting of the executive of the School Committees' Association held today, it was decided to circularise the school committees throughout the Dominion, also the New Zealand Labour organisations, asking them to send delegates to a meeting in the Palmerston North Opera House on Monday, November 4, when the following resolution will, be discussed:-—"(1) That in tho opinion of this meeting the timn has arrived' when the educational grant should be raised to £3,000,000.; (2) that the status off the teaching profession be raised, and adequate sala'rins .paid in keeping with the- work; (3) that greater 'inducements be given to'young people to take up the work of school teaching." .
