EXPORTING POSTAGE STAMPS
MAN FINED £30 FOB FLOUTING ' REGULATIONS. By,Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, October 7. At the Magistrate's Court, John Albert Potter pleaded guilty to attempting to. export postage stamps from, New Zealand to a neutral country, namely, Switzerland, without" the consent ofthe Minister of Customs. It was stated by Mr. Gifford Marshall, Ctwn Prosecutor, that defendant, had previously applied for a permit and been refused.:: -He had then-attempted to export stamps, sending them to. an agent in Australia for postage to Switzerland. Mr. Wilson, S.M., pointed out that the minimum fine was £25. He thought the case called for more. :pnnishmeiit than this, as defendant had flouted the regulations. Defendant was fined £30, and N ordered . to pay costs, £3 10s.
