WOULD MR. HOLLAND EXPLAIN?
Sir,—"lmmediately the Empire is at war wo-are at war, and must remain at war as long as the Empire remains at wnr." The above typical ambiguous stntoment by Mr. Holland, as taken froni your sub-lender of the 4th instant, is perplexing the minds of many of your readers, who know the view's that Mr. Holland and his anticonscription admirers have openly expressed during the last four years. To> what Empire does Mr. Holland refer, when ho says: "Immediately the Empire is at war wo are at war"? Aa the , .member for the Grey, by his utterances and actions since 1914, has disassociated himself from the "British" Empire's war against the Huns, to 'what Empire does he refer? 'and with whom are. "we" are war?—l am, etc., PUZZLED.
