WAR LOAN SUBSCRIPTIONS.

Figures that have been compiled by the Treasury show that the people of New Zealand have subscribed over £40 per head to the War Loans. The total includes amounts invested in war certificates and subscriptions that have been received in anticipation of the next War Loan.'

This total is much larger than would have been deemed possible five years' ago, before New Zealand's capacity for raising money for war, purposes had been tested.
