A sum of £314 18s. 2d. was taken at the Masterton Patriotic Shop on Saturday in aid of tho Bed Cross funds.
Thanksgiving services in connection with the war were held in the whole of the Masterton churches on Sunday.

The following resolution, passed at a meeting of the committee set up by the Featherston Dairy Company at a general meeting of suppliers, was reaffirmed ab a meeting of the dairy farmers held yesterday: "That owing to the invocation by the Wellington City Council of special and arbitrary regulations which are intended to limit and restrict the liberty of some, we, the dairy farmers of Featherston, cannot see 'our way clear to accept tlie proposition of the council as to leasing or buying tho factory." Mr. W. Barton was responsible for tho original motion,' but tho chairman moved the endorsement of the resolution passed by tho committee. He had pointed out that for twenty years past the local dairymen had been forwarding supplies to the city and were anxious to continue so assisting iu meeting city requirements, but not in the form proposed by the City Council. The chairman had also made it clear that this supply would be through tho company and not as in earlier years per medium of the individual supplier. At the committee meeting the opinion was also advanced that householders did not, in many instances, exercise full care as to providing thoroughly clean utensils, and studying tho location of same, thus prejudicing the purity of the milk. The resolution wns carried unanimously. During the discussion the chairman said that tho fanners should not he represented in ParHainenfc by nrofessional but by those fully cognisant of the requirements of tlie farming community.
A collision occurred at what is known as Hunter's corner, Fcathprston, yesterday morning between the cars of Mr. M. H. Kendall, and Mr. K. Kennedy, considerable damage resulting to both cars, the former suffering to the greater extent.
