KING'S THEATRE.

'i'hu cast is headed by Sir Johnston Forbes-Bobcrtaon and Irene Vanbrugh ; and they arc supported b.y a number the moßt famous in the world. The story deals with "ae leading incidents in the lile of fee Wellington, uud Irene Vanbrugh as Peg given a performance in itceli worth going to see. The work of .Sir Johnston i'orbes-ltobsrieon aieo is of a standard not often seen. The other talented artiste in the cast do work of the highest order, und altogether the sicture is a, uniquo one. A Gazette and a turbuer instalment of the uenal 'ihe Fatal King," are also screened. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE, That hell hath no fury like a woman soonied is 'borne out b£ the Vitagraph drama, "'iae Daring of Diana," now uemg screened at ISverybouy'sTheatre. Anita Stewart ])laye the leading part. The production is artistically enactod, and possesses an exceptionally interesting plot. Added to Anita Stewart's line talents is a personality that oarries her far. In audition to this feature is shown a sidesplitting .L.K.O. comedy, entitled "Props, t)rops, and Flops,." EMPRESS THEATRE. A new screen star worth watching is the young Japanese who appears in "Who Is to Dlanifl?" His name is-'Jack Eddie, and,' he has a fine personality, combined with great acting ability. Critics have declared him to be second to none of his countrymen a 6 a film actor. "Who is to Blame?" is a most appealing story, delightfully produced, and with a continual element of the unexpected. Jack Livingston, llaud Wayne, and Lilian West have the prominent parts, and acquit themselves with credit. This pioturc will be screened all this week. THEATRE. This week's programme at the Artcraft Theatre, Thorndon, is well tip to the excellent standard of previous Paramount programmes. Mr. Charles Ray, who has already a largo following, is not resting on his laurels, but is making further strides into the hearts of picture lovers, us is noticeable to all who see the impression that is oreated by his portrayal of a farm louseabout in "The Hired Man." The story is of the comedy-dra-matic class, and there is plenty of ecope for the bright comedy that is so well coupled with Mr. Ray. The draniatio eido is, however, not weakened by this, but is, in fact, intensified by tile contrast. There is also a second star picture on the programme in the play, "Madame Jealousy." The emotional actress, Miss Pauline Frederick, Is the central figure, and, needless to aay, does the part to a nioety. The story of "Madame Jealousy" has been smartly,, written round a. fascinating plot that leaves no loophole for disinterestedness to take root, The farcecomedy on the bill is a mosJ amusing one entitled "The Eecrult." DANCE RECITAL. Lovers of dancing should not miss tho entertainment to bo given by Miss Estelle Deere at the Grand Opera House on Friday and Saturday, October 11 and 12. In addition to dancers who arc already favourably known to tho public. Miss Deere introduce some new faces. Some entirety new pallets wijl be produced, boaides ensembles, Boles, and artistio groupings, including "Badinajro," a trio by Misses Wilford and Scott and Mr. B. Orighton, and little Joan Bcerc and Zclda. Bailey in a sweet Hawaiian song and danco. Miss Thurza Rofters will appear as premier danseuse in "Lee Sylphides," and Private O'Carroll as tho premier dansour. Mr. Frank Johnston will .provide tho mu6ie. The recitals are being organised by Mrs. Mansoy, 0.8.E.. and tho Thorndon Ladies' Red Cross CoTlimittce, and Their Excellencies the Qovernor-Gthc-ral and tho Countess of Liverpool wiH tie present.
