SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
The great surrender moved all at the Sailors' Friend Society on Tuesday, when the institute was gay with flags, etc. 'Mrs. J. -Moore was hostess. In a speech aftor the Doxology and "Eternal Father,", tho missioner said how much this victory meant to the men of the sea. Mr. Moore spoke in feeling terms of the sailors who had laid dewn their lives in the cause. All present stood with right hand upraised to show their gratitude and their readiness to still do "their bit" in the great effort. The following contributed to the concert, programme:—Mesdames _ Grant and Wyclieriy, and Miss Christie, and Messrs. Woodward, Grant, Noble,' Whiteman, Brady, Walker, ;West, and Palmer. Sirs. Grant and Miss Christio were at the piano. "God be with You" was sung. Light refreshments were dispensed.
