RECRUITING IN IRELAND
VOLUNTEER EFFORT FAILS. (Rec. October 1, 7.45 p.m.) London, September 30. The Irish recruiting returns show that only 7900 have volunteered, whereas Viscount French demanded 50,000 by October 10. It is reported that_ the Irish Recruiting Council does not intern! to recommend any extension of the timo limit—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
