BIBLE CLASS COMPETITIONS
Musical, debating, and haka competitions were indulged in by of the Eresbyterian Bible Classes of Wellington on Saturday evening in_ St. John's Schoolroom. A healthy spirit of competition was evinced, and ' consequently a, most enjoyable evening was spent by those present. The. judges were: Vocal miisic, Mr. H. Temple White; Maori haka, Mr. Maugee T. Poihipi; impromptu debate, Mr. H. E. Evans, M.A., LL.M. The decisions of the judges were as follow:— Girls' Chorus Song: Kent Terrace, 1; St. John's, 2; Lower Hutt, 3. Quartet: Kelburn, 1; Lower Hutt, 2; St. John's, 3. Duet: Lower Hutt, 1; Kelburn, 2; Kent Terrace, 3. Haka: Lower Hutt, 1; St. John's, 2; Kent Terrace, 3. Impromptu Debate: St. John's, 1; Kent Terrace, 2; Kelburn, 3. The secretaries were Messrs. M'Farlane and Edmondson and Miss Nichols.
