On the morning ; of September 28 the enemy was driven out of his positions on the Upiior Jordan, and we crossed to tho left bai:k, undertaking "repair to the bridge. The cavalry overcame .the resistance of the Turks at Irbid and .Erremete, ajid on tho morning of September 28 drove the enemy northwards through Ijfezereb, junctioning with King Sussfien's Arabs at Deraa. Tho latter captured the stations at Ezra and Gbazale, and entered Deraa and fjhiek R'saad, M miles nonth-west of Deras,, on September ■■%!, taking 1500 prisoners. Wβ, in conjunction ■ with the Arabs, were ar> proaching'Mezerib on the evening of September 28. TVe took prisoner in tho southern area by September 27 3700, and' enpturod 28 guns in the operations eastward of the Jordan, and are in contact with the enemy about El Kastal, 14 J mifee southward of Aniraan, compelling a Turkish retreat from Ammnan.
