KARORI RIFLE CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING,

. The Karori Defence Rifle Club held its annual general meeting on Wednesday evening. The annual report •showed the club to be in a good financial position, notwithstanding the large number of its active members away m various theatres of the war.. Out of a membership at the "Commencement of the war of 66, the club has been able to enrol sufficient members to keep the club going and have a record of 66 enlistments *up to date. The club lost one of its most active vice-presidents (Captain J. Keir), who was recently killed in action, and his loss will be severely felt by the club. Further honours have been added to.the club's military record by the late' president, Lieutenant H. T. Marshall,. who has been awarded the Military Cross for a daring exploit in tho enemy's trenchos on the' western front.

It has been decided to fire for all cups and trophies during the forthcoming season, which will open during October.

The following officers wore elected: Patron, Mr. W. H. Field, M.P. •'•«- elected); vice-patron, Mr. F. J. Lissington (re-elected); president, Mr. W. Judd (re-olectcd); deputy-president, Rifleman H. Bnlford; vice-presidents, Colonel G. T. Hall, Judge Rawson, Messrs. J. F. Mills, C. C. Odlii), L. Blundell, W. J. Phindell, Owen Daly, W. E. Jackson, A. Collins, and W. T. Hildreth; lion, secretary. Rifleman E. W. Daniel j assistant secretary, Rifleman H. V. Croxton: treasurer, Riilo-' man W A. Farcpihar; ' handicapper, Rifleman G. Tinnoy; auditor, Rifleman R. Handell; committee, Riflemen G. Tinney, W. Skegg. A. Jensen, and R. H. Hooper; Selection Committee, President W- Judd, Deputy-President H. Bulford, and Riflnmnn G. ■Tinne^Y; delegates to Rifle Club Union, President W. Judd, Deputy-President H. Bulford, and Rifleman E. Daniel.
